C is in "4th grade" now, as much as a homeschooler can be in just one grade level. It's more like 4th for english, art, music, 5th for math, 6th for science and reading.
Concentration is a big issue. He is being treated naturally for ADHD. Before I started taking him to our naturopath the symptoms were taking over our lives. Now, it's more of a minor issue. As long as he takes his EFAs he seems to be much more able to complete his work. Though, the next step is eliminating wheat from his diet so he can really concentrate. So far, FAIL. That's my fault. Wheat is a hard one to get rid of!
Today we studied English and the use of WELL/GOOD, YOUR/YOU'RE and ITS/IT'S. He completed his work upstairs in his room (turns out this is a great place for him to concentrate) in record time and received two 100% and two 75%. Not bad considering it's his least favorite subject.
Preschool... well I'm still gathering new ideas. We have been doing our seasonal crafts and experimenting with water beads. Lots of pencil drawing. I put up posters about "getting along". We are working on using nice words, treating people with respect and working out our differences. I got a game to teach proper nutrition and food groups so we check each meal to see if we have a good balance of protein, carbs, fruit/veggies. So far preschool has not been very structured but what about it needs to be right?
